We have talked before about the natural beauty of Montreux, but it bears repeating. The lake is a stunning clear blue-green. The mountains are indeed majestic. The cloud formations provide great daydreaming material…..for those who have time for such activities. We are not in that group, but we do enjoy the scenery for the 20 minutes we spend outdoors per day.
We were visited by our dear friend and former touring colleague Steve Spencer yesterday. Steve is FOH mixer for Leonard Cohen as well as Production Manager Extraordinaire. He’s done very well for himself since his days as Quad Squad for Pink Floyd. He did that quite well also, we might add.
We also had the pleasure of a visit from Laurent and Annick of Laurent Perrier Sonorisation. They were kind enough to share a with us their techniques for loading in MICA with a helicopter. If you’re interested you can see it at http://www.lpsono.ch/multimedia/

Things are running smoothly by now. We’re in the midst of Day 6 with twenty seven performances in the main venues and dozens more throughout the festival, and thousands of satisfied customers. And if anyone wants more music from artist at Montreux past and present, there is a music shop for CD’s to go.
We are very fortunate to be here representing Meyer Sound. We’ll be back tomorrow with more vignettes of MJF.
